Star Tribune MS TRAM Bike Tour to take 1,200 cyclists through Minnesota’s northern lake country

MINNEAPOLIS The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter will hold its 18th annual Star Tribune MS TRAM Bike Tour July 22 to 27. The five-day, 300-mile bike tour will take approximately 1,200 cyclists through Minnesota’s northern lake country. The Minnesota Chapter expects cyclists to raise more than $1 million to help fund programs and services for people living with multiple sclerosis in Minnesota and western Wisconsin and research for a cure.

The Star Tribune MS TRAM Bike Tour starts Sunday, July 22, in Walker, Minn. Participants start cycling Monday, July 23, along the Heartland Trail and complete the first leg of the journey in Park Rapids, Minn. Day two features a loop through Itasca State Park, past the headwaters of the Mississippi River and back to Park Rapids for a second night. Wednesday, July 25, cyclists travel to Wadena, Minn. Thursday participants ride around Otter Tail Lake and into Fergus Falls, Minn. The last leg of the tour takes participants down the Central Lakes Trail as the tour culminates at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Alexandria, Minn.
