MS River Road Run Motorcycle Tour to kick off Saturday

WHAT:

 

More than 165 motorcyclists will take off from the State Capitol in St. Paul Saturday, Aug. 18, as part of the two-day MS River Road Run Motorcycle Tour. The MS River Road Run is a two-day motorcycle tour to help end multiple sclerosis.

WHEN:

 

Saturday, Aug. 18, to Sunday, Aug. 19

WHERE:

 

The MS River Road Run starts Saturday, Aug. 18, at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Participants travel along the scenic Mississippi River and into Wisconsin before stopping at the overnight site in La Crosse, Wis. Sunday, Aug. 19, riders finish at MS Camp at Camp Courage in Maple Lake, Minn. MS Camp is a six-day leisure program for adults living with multiple sclerosis.

  • Starting line: Saturday, Aug. 18, at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Riders roll out parade style at 9 a.m.
  • Finish line: Sunday, Aug. 19, at Camp Courage in Maple Lake, Minn. Most riders arrive between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. At the festive finish, motorcyclists will join friends, family members, volunteers and MS Camp participants for a picnic lunch.

WHO:

 

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter is organizing the event. This year the Minnesota Chapter anticipates that more than 165 people will raise approximately $130,000 to help support MS research and programs and services to help people living with MS in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, provides more services to people with MS, offers more professional education and furthers more advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. The Minnesota Chapter represents an estimated 9,000 people with MS in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
