Three-day, 50-mile MS Challenge Walk starts at Minneapolis Veterans Home Friday

WHAT:

 

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter will hold its sixth annual MS Challenge Walk, a three-day, 50-mile walk to help end multiple sclerosis in the Twin Cities this weekend Sept. 7 to 9. The Minnesota Chapter expects nearly 375 people will participate and raise more than $750,000.

Friday, Sept. 7, to Sunday, Sept. 9

WHERE:

 

The MS Challenge Walk starts at the Minneapolis Veterans Home in Minneapolis, 5101 Minnehaha Ave., and finishes at the State Capitol in St. Paul.

  • Friday, Sept. 7, 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Walkers eat breakfast and stretch as they gear up for the walk at the Minneapolis Veterans Home.
  • Friday, Sept. 7, 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. Opening ceremony.
  • Friday, Sept. 7. 8:15 a.m. Walkers take their first steps of the 50-mile walk.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter is organizing the event. This year the Minnesota Chapter anticipates that nearly 375 people will raise more than $755,000 to help support MS research and programs and services to help people living with MS in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
