Three-day, 50-mile MS Challenge Walk starts tomorrow at Minneapolis Veterans Home

WHAT:

 

The sixth annual MS Challenge Walk, a three-day, 50-mile walk to help end multiple sclerosis, kicks off tomorrow, Sept. 7, at the Minneapolis Veterans Home. The National MS Society, Minnesota Chapter expects nearly 375 people will participate and raise more than $750,000.

WHEN:

 

Tomorrow, Sept. 7, to Sunday, Sept. 9

WHERE:

 

The MS Challenge Walk starts at the Minneapolis Veterans Home in Minneapolis and finishes at the State Capitol in St. Paul.

  • Tomorrow, Sept. 7, 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Participants gear up for the event, enjoy the opening ceremony and leave from the Minneapolis Veterans Home to begin the 50-mile journey. 
  • Saturday, Sept. 8, 6:30 to 8 a.m. Walkers take off from Sabes Jewish Community Center in St. Louis Park, 4330 Cedar Lake Road S.
  • Saturday, Sept. 8, 8:15 to 11 a.m. Friends and family cheering station on the northeast side of the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, located at the intersection of Main St and S.E. Sixth Ave.

WHO:

 

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter is organizing the event. This year the Minnesota Chapter anticipates that nearly 375 people will raise more than $750,000 to help support MS research and programs and services to help people living with MS in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
