MS Society awards $10,000 grant to Heuga Center for MS Sept. 26, 2007 Contact: Emily Wilson MINNEAPOLIS—The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis in Edwards Colo. The grant provided scholarships to 10 people in Minnesota and western Wisconsin to attend the Heuga Center’s “Can Do” program held Aug. 1 to 5 in Plymouth, Minn. The Heuga Center’s five-day “Can Do” program is an intensive health education program that teaches people with multiple sclerosis and their families how to take charge of their lives within the context of a chronic disease. The grant was awarded in conjunction with the Minnesota Chapter’s Community Grant Program. The program awards grants to other nonprofit organizations and affiliated clinics whose work helps to address the challenges of people whose lives are affected by the disease and move closer to a world free of MS. |
