MINNEAPOLIS — The seventh annual Challenge Walk MS: Twin Cities 2008 — a three-day, 50-mile walk to help end multiple sclerosis — kicks off this Friday, Sept. 12, in Minneapolis and ends Sunday, Sept. 14, at the state Capitol in St. Paul.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter anticipates more than 200 people will participate in the 50-mile walk and raise nearly $600,000 to help support MS research and programs and services for the estimated 9,000 people living with MS in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Challenge Walk MS features some of the best sites of the Twin Cities, including the Minneapolis chain of lakes and historic neighborhoods of St. Paul. Walkers take off Friday from the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis and finish Sunday with a victory march to the state Capitol in St. Paul.

A $60 registration fee and $1,500 minimum pledge are required to participate. To learn more, visit http://www.mschallengewalk.org/ or call 1-800-582-5296.
